THIRTY DAY DRAWING CHALLENGE Day 27 - January 28

No subject at all was suggested for this day. An oversight.
Love this. It's kinda like real life... a blank slate every day until you wake up and start filling in your plans and prejudices. Things get narrow real fast. I have been working on recognizing my narrowness and at least making some choices before my feet hit the floor in the morning. So as I was lying in bed at 6 am, regretting that extra sip of wine the night before, I thought, "Good God, get a grip! Why not instead, think about opening up to a bit more love and a bit more personal empowerment, like you've been intending for the past God-knows-how-long?" Not that I haven't made progress along those lines, but what could I do with what I had that would launch me a little closer to the goal-post? Hmmmm. Well, as you can see, the result was that my choice for this non-topic was the "Queen of Hearts" a personal cartouche of sorts. Not the Alice in Wonderland Queen but my own queen. Hearts, because that's my focus and destination; queen because that's personal power. As added incentive, I have long thought that the whole playing-card family needed a bit of a shake-up so I had to ask, "Why are all those queens so unhappy looking? Do they have bad marriages? Do they have bunions? Perhaps their girdles are far too tight. MY queen was going to be happy and ridiculous (she took that extra sip of wine last night!). And what about this penchant for drab colour? I had a look at four different decks of cards and they all belong to the breakfast-cereal palette. Wasn't it only royalty that was allowed to wear purple? Where's the PURPLE? Well now!!!! Purple it IS!! India ink and acrylic on Terraskin paper, mounted on painted board. Approximately 5½" x 8"

I'm looking to raise a few dollars for the local Arts Council (Facebook #cv30ddc2020), so if it takes your fancy, I'll be offering this and all ensuing 30-day drawings for auction on my home Facebook page, @sandralambartwork; starting bid $15 (cheap!!!).
If you would like to bid on this piece you must do so through Facebook at my page so click here: sandralambartwork. Bids are open for one week after each drawing is posted and I will do a regular recap of posted bids in case I miss someone.
